A good friend of mine, Rob Spejcher, a decorated Iraqi and Afghanistan war veteran, is holding
a benefit Friday evening to raise money to purchase tents and sleeping bags for the people of Haiti.
Rob and members of his former unit arrived in Haiti shortly after the earthquake and spent a
week aiding the people of Haiti. Rob came back with the unique awareness of the critical needs of these people.
With the upcoming rain season, many hundreds of thousands of Haitians are without shelter,
leaving them vulnerable to insect borne diseases.
For $44.00, you can provide shelter for an entire
Haitian family. These supplies will be delivered directly from Illinois to Haiti and you will be able to follow the progress and delivery of
your donation on the Homes for Haiti Facebook page.
I recognize these are difficult times for all of us, but if we can each help out in some small
way, we can make a huge difference in the lives of the people of Haiti.
Please consider a tax deductible donation made out to the Hanover Township Foundation (write
Homes for Haiti in memo section). This is a unique opportunity for you to actually see your donation make a difference (from your checkbook
to the delivery of supplies to the people of Haiti).
100% of all funds received will be used to purchase supplies (with no administrative expenses
whatsoever). |
